About This Journey

A trail walked in chapters

Welcome to a site I have created with the goal of documenting a journey my friends and I are taking towards an ambitious goal: hiking the entire Bruce Trail. At 890 km long, with life and work competing for time, this is no small feat.

The whole idea came to me in April 2022 when I was sitting in the living room of my friend Rob's chalet near Creemore. A Bruce Trail Reference Guide was sitting on the coffee table and I picked it up and was leafing through it. I got an idea in my head and shared it with Rob.

Charles: What do you think about hiking the entire Bruce Trail?

Rob: That is quite an undertaking. It would require a lot of planning.

Charles: Hmmm. I've got a friend who will be interested and can help make this happen.

I was thinking of Paul of course — and sure enough, he was ALL IN when I shared my idea. Through this site you will be part of our journey. Paul's son Jacob and our friend Chris joined from the second trip onwards, with many guests joining along the way. I would like to thank everyone who has joined for hikes or shared their homes with us to facilitate our hiking trips. We could not have done it without you.

This is truly a story of enjoying the journey, stopping to take the time to smell the roses and experiencing the best nature Ontario has to offer with friends.
